It may not be the cheapest place to have my car serviced but I get a courtesy car for the duration, plus a year's breakdown cover, and they have often done small jobs for no charge. They also came to rescue me once when my car broke down in the Tesco car park on Christmas Eve and the AA refused!
All the staff are a credit to the company.

They have managed to combine the advantages of being a Ford dealer with the personal service you get from a family run local garage. Unlike larger dealerships they will not limit a service strictly to the Ford schedule and happily deal with any other problems should they arise. The Reception staff are very helpful . It is very convenient having your collected and returned.

When I arrived at the garage for the service all members of staff that were on the forecourt and in the office had a friendly and welcoming greeting. I was given an approximate time for the work to be done assuming all was Ok. I was asked if I wanted to be contacted re any work that needed doing that was quite small which I gave permission to be done without a call. The work was completed well within the time stated. On return to the office everything relating to the service was explained to me. I felt the whole experience professional and the staff excellent.

One thing that was highlighted to me during the visit was that my front tyres were close to the limit and they gave a range of replacements at good prices. I selected Dunlops as they seemed to offer the best price / performance.
As always the car was washed prior to return and included an additional benefit of a year's ford roadside assistance at no cost.
My experience with John R Ford remains one of satisfaction with the professional way that servicing and any other contact has been handled.

From the moment I walked into the showroom, Lee helped me through the whole process as car purchases can be so scary! I hadn't bought a car in over 7 years, and he was more than willing to talk me through every tiny detail of the car.
He gave me honest advice when it came to affordability and felt I could trust his opinion.
It only took 6 days from looking at the car to driving away with it, and when he handed me the keys the car was in perfect condition!

Damian DavidsonLet's be honest, when anybody gets the thought of taking their car to a main dealer for servicing and repairs, the first thought is usually 'stealers', well John R Ford & Sons is refreshingly different.
I've entrusted my last 3 cars to this garage, there hasn't been an issue they haven't been able to resolve efficiently and economically.
My latest 'problem child' is (at the time of writing) a 1 year old Ford Focus ST which had a curious issue whereby it kept going into powersave mode to preserve the battery...the team at John R Ford & Sons would not rest until the issue was fully resolved, enjoying the challenge rather than most garages who would see it as an annoyance.

I took my Transit MS-RT in for some rectification work that another dealer had done poorly and also a service. Trevor worked smoothly With Ford direct and was very patient doing so. John DysonIncredible service from the Royston John R Ford team yet again! Background: We lived locally in Hertfordshire until a few years ago. Since we moved away, I just haven't found a Ford dealership that is anywhere near as dependable and trustworthy as the one in Royston, so now I drive half way across the country back to Royston for my servicing, repairs and accessories. Sounds extreme, but it's so worth it for their honest and straightforward approach to any job, big or small.
On this occasion, I had a tow bar fitted to my new Kuga. It was an installation that was far from easy because of a combination of new technology in the car and issues securing parts, some from inside Europe and some from further afield -no fault of the local team. Instead, the Royston team persevered really hard in tracking down the right parts and having them speedily shipped to the UK, keeping me in touch every step of the way. Absolutely no promises were made that they couldn't keep and there was no fobbing me off with false claims of parts being on their way when they weren't. So, I was pleased to accept the regular updates and delighted when their efforts to get the parts paid off.
End result "“ close inspection of the tow bar demonstrated to me what a huge job it had been, yet I am very pleased that it was installed with great care, the cuts in the bumper were tidy and unnoticeable, the wiring worked perfectly and the tow bar, being detachable, fits and uncouples perfectly. All at a realistic and fair price too.
This was car engineering at the highest level, and all done locally in Royston (though not so local to me!). They are a top team, always professional, always helpful, friendly, good value and, above all else, reliable. Top marks!

I'm not quite sure on Fords Motor Company's servicing prices and the difference between scheduled and essential. The Scheduled service inclusions are hard to find anywhere and feel the pricing is quite high compared to other vehicle manufacturers I've owned in the past. However, communication and contact with JR Ford Royston is better than most.

I spoke with Lee Childers throughout the process and I am grateful to him and John R Ford for the amazing car and service I received.
I contacted Lee early August to enquire about the car, having already done some research with other dealers in my local area.
I knew that the standard wait time for a factory order was approximately 12weeks according to the Ford website and the other dealers I had spoken to.
I gave Lee the same information and spec that interested me but instead of dismissing this and trying to get me into a car I wasn't interested in he took the time to look for any available vehicle he had that matched my request.
Within an hour Lee responded with details of a car with everything I had requested.
Lee throughout the process responded quickly to all emails and phone calls. He provided information on accessories and services provided at John R Ford and was a pleasure to deal with from start to finish.

Have been a customer here for many years, they really look after customers, recently phoned to book my car in for an oil and filter change, so easy to book a time and date that was convenient for me, they sent me an email making sure I was still happy with the booking from the service manager. On arrival so easy to hand over the keys, and made sure I was happy to wait, I had decided to walk into town, took my phone number to ring me when work was completed. Excellent service from a great Ford dealership.
